File Types We Accept

Our basic pricing is based on receving print-ready files, and we’ve listed some guidelines below. If you need help, we offer excellent prepress services

The commercial printing process requires high quality files to get a good result. We accept the following file types. Always save your files as pdf or eps.

Important: Your file must be entirely created in a resolution-independant program like the ones listed below using 300 dpi graphics where appropriate. Saving a low resolution JPG as a pdf or eps file will not work. The result will be a low resolution pdf or eps file that will not print properly.

  • Acrobat (pdf)
  • Illustrator (ai, eps)
  • InDesign (indd)
  • Quark Xpress (qxd)
  • Photoshop (psd)

If you don’t have access to these programs, we also offer creative and prepress services.

Why we don’t accept MS Word

When you use MS Word for page layout, it formats the page to the dimensions of default computer on your printer. That means your layout will look different on every computer — not as you intended.

We can work with files produced with MS Publisher, provided they are saved as CMYK. Please see the Publisher help for how to do this.

How to get a good result

Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign and Quark Xpress produce EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) files. EPS files are not resolution dependant and for this reason are preferred by the print industry.

We also accept Photoshop files, which are resolution dependant. If you submit a Photoshop file, please make sure that it is 300 DPI.

Never use Internet images for print projects. Images from the Internet are low quality (96DPI) and will not print properly.
